Write Nonfiction NOW! is the sister blog to Write Nonfiction in November. Write Nonfiction NOW! host all Nina Amir’s posts about writing and publishing nonfiction–articles, essays, books, e-books, etc.–when the Write Nonfiction in November challenge is not up and running. That means you can find many useful tips and lots of great information at Write Nonfiction NOW!–just like during November–except you can find them there from December through October each year. Nina writes most of the post, but occasionally, just like in November, she has guest bloggers join her as well.
For the last two years, Nina has kept Write Nonfiction in November “alive” with a post or more each month between December and October. Recently, she decided to increase the number of posts. Then it struck her that the whole idea of posts added to Write Nonfiction in November during the rest of the year seemed confusing–and a bit off point. That’s when she gave birth to the idea for Write Nonfiction NOW!
Please, always feel free to check out the archives at Write Nonfiction in November. It is home to three years of superb information. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, send Nina an email. She’ll make sure the information you want appears in Write Nonfiction NOW! or in the 2010 Write Nonfiction in November blog.
Also, you’ll find that the posts written after November 2009 now have links to Write Nonfiction NOW!
Enjoy. Learn. Write. Write nonfiction. Publish. Publish nonfiction. Write and publish nonfiction now!
Hi Nina,
What a fantastic idea! I’ve participated in NaNoWriMo for a number of years, and I have to admit to wishing that it weren’t about just fiction. In fact the last two years I participated, I wrote nonfiction because that is where my interests led me, no matter how hard I tried to keep things fictional.
You’re brilliant to help people produce material by providing a deadline. A calendar deadline is an excellent start, but to also know that other people are writing during that same 30 day period, beginning a project and writing for 30 days to completion provides a sense of camaraderie that keeps a writer going during the deepest, darkest days of doubt and writer’s block.
Thank you for starting this. You can be sure I will participate. I don’t know if I will completely switch allegiances! LOL! NaNoWriMo has a piece of my heart, for without that “training” I wouldn’t be the writer I am today.
Best of luck with this project. I’ll be watching closely.
Best regards,
Kathleen Birmingham
